  • Plastic bonnet trim

Having my bonnet trim replaced. It snapped its little plastic lugs around 20,000km and flaps around at both sides now. Of course my dealer insisted that this was my fault ("ya must have got it caught on something...") but will replace it anyway to avoid the argument (this is the Alice Springs version of "the customer is always right"). I know of one other vehicle that has the same problem... anyone else?

Yep me too! Not happy about it as I only applied light pressure once day and SNAP! I haven't mentioned it to Toyota yet, but will at the next service. It is not really strong enough for the application.

Same here, Toyota just replaced it. I think I ended up having about 3 clips broken.

Yep I had same problem thankfully with only one lug.

Toyota refused to replace it under warranty!!

Righteo then here's a photo. behind each circle (roughly) are broken lugs so the trim flaps at both ends.

Replaced today under warranty. Staff today commented that it is a very common issue so the guy I spoke to last week was just ignorant. Thanks folks for your contribution.
