  • Replacement of Rear Door Seal

My rear door seal has split and deteriorated and needs to be replaced. I checked the price of the seal today and it was $370 (although hopefully it is a bit cheaper from some of the ebay toyota part sellers or amayama ... a similar size OEM seal on my Porsche was $57).

Has anyone replaced their rear door seal? Is the process simply to rip-off the old one and glue down the new seal?

Have you checked under the bottom part of the seal for rust while your at it ??? There prone to catching water and getting trapped under the rubber.... Personally it would only use genuine as it's moulded 100% accurately to suit...Cheers Steve

        Thanks for the link.

Sounds like there are no real tricks or difficulties with removing or replacing the seal.

Only tip for procuring the new seal from that thread is the 'trade price' of $230. The car still has that statutory 3 mth warranty, so I might ask the dealer to provide under warranty, or to give me on at cost price (assuming it is wear & tear).

You could say its a safety issue and it's letting fumes in through the rear door ??....cheers Steve

Turns out the 120 seal is exactly the same and fits the 150 perfectly. I got a mint one for $20 from the wreckers.
