Drivers Door Seal Noise/Movement

Hi All,

Proud owner of a 2014 Prado GXL 3.0L D4D. Vehicle has approximately 80,000km.

I've had no issues with the car but I have one gripe. When moving over bumpy roads (even bitumen roads) I can hear a sound right beside my right ear. It sounds like the drivers door is moving around and the door seals are rubbing. It's much more noticeable when the conditions are cold, probably because the seals are harder when cold and become softer and more pliable when warm.

My questions are:

1) Has anybody experienced anything like this? If so, how did you resolve it?
2) I am intending to replace the RH front door weatherstrip (part 67861-60170) and the RH front door opening trim weatherstrip (62311-60150-A1). I figure if I install nice new plush seals it will resolve my issue, assuming the current seals have compressed and/or hardened.

Any other thoughts before I spend $200 on door seals? I can't see any way to adjust the tightness of the door closure or anything like this, so this feels like my only option.

Try giving the seals a good regular dose of armoral. Doors always move a bit

Use silicone spray on the seals. I had the same issue and this fixed it.

Ditto on the Silicon Spray, I used this and it worked a treat. A bit of an after smell though.

Gave it a go with silicon spray, definitely a big improvement! Thanks for the suggestion. Still a little bit of movement noise there though. I'll give it a few more goes with silicon spray to see if that clears it up completely.
