Hi all,
Im new to PradoPoint and think that it is OUTSTANDING! HEAPS OF INFO GREAT WORK!!!
This is my first post so I'll try my best...
The main question I have it that my wife & I have just taken ownership of a 2009 Kakadu 3.0L turbo diesel. Can't complain and think its brilliant but needs a few more horses to pull it along. But I guess this doesnt help the situation stepping out of a brand new 2009 VE SSV with 258RW KW after some mods I did!!!
But feature of the Kakadu out way the lack of power. A V6 Diesel would be nice though...
Anyway, we have had it from about 29,000k's and that it is coming up to its 40,000Klm service interval. I have notice a few things.
We have strarted to get a bit of steering wheel wobble under braking!! From what I believe is that is a sign of warped rotors and pads wearing. I am not getting a squeeling noise like you would hear when pads are worn ( not sure if Toyota pads have wear indicators??) assume they would.... so I am not putting it down to the fact that the pads are really worn but more so the rotors are starting to warp.
It is also optioned with Radar Cruise and it is more so noticable when its activated and starts to slow down automatically as it it is intended to do when in constantly changing traffic conditions.
1. The under lining question is what life span are you guys getting from the pads and rotors on your vehicles???
2. When you are taking your vehical to Toyota for a service are they notifying you that they need changing and ring you back to tell you this or hitting you up for a hefty bill on arrival of pick up???
3. What sort of prices have Toyato been hitting you up for brake pad and disc replacment or machining??
I have also notice there is not a spacific period in the sqedual services requirements to perform... I guess due to different styles of driving.
It will be used for towing a camper trailer so just want to make sure all is spot on before the big trip!!!
