Hi all,
I recently upgraded from an automatic 2005 Prado to an automatic 2015 Prado and I have noticed something with the new Prado that I think is unusual and I was wondering what the brains trust think about it.
When I'm coasting along at around 50km/h on the flat or slight downward slope, the transmission seems to shift (or the torque converter locks?) back and forth.
So I'm "feathering" the throttle trying to maintain the desired speed and the transmission will shift/lock and engine revs will drop 300-400rpm ... a second later it will shift/unlock again and engine revs go up 300-400rpm. It could do this a few of times in a row.
Is this normal?
If it is not normal, what steps should I take to resolve it?
Thanks in advance.
Vernon.
