I am now to this forum and the Prado so bear with me.
I have a 2012 150 GXL. It was stock with 120000ks on it when I got it. I have put in a 2” lift (Kings and Bilsteins) including super pro adjustable upper arms for adjustments, underbody protection and recovery points.
I took it for a drive up to mount mee today and I was impressed with the car mechanically however, back on the bitumen in the tight windy corners the traction control kept kicking in and wanting to throw me off the mountain. At first I thought I was just giving it a bit too much into the corners but when it became almost every corner and keeping under the recommended corner speeds I got sick of it.
I come from Land Rover and honestly their traction control is very good.
Is this normal? Could my increased height be effecting the traction control?
When getting back into a more urban environment I couldn’t seem to get it to do it anymore. Which also makes me wonder if altitude or road angles are playing a part.
I have already encountered the traction control turning back on over 52km/h in the sand when I tried to cross a small cutting and the computer said no. So it’s not like I can just turn it off completely for tight sections... or can I?
my next step is to but 265/75r17s on I am worried that this will make the issue even worse.
Anyway thanks for for reading and any help will be appreciated.
