Like this idea very much.
Will toyota still warrant the fuel system ? As my new bus has warranty ??
Any one noticed any differance in performance

I work for the CAT dealer here in qld and you can buy the Donaldson 4x4 fuel filter assembly through them for $99 plus gst I think.

Hello everyone, I'm new in the forum. I've been reading it however for about a year while I did my research - it has been very helpful. The journey meandered via the Prado vs Pajero route - really liked both and drove various spec models of both. Finally settled on a Kakadu - build date 12/12 for $80k drive away which I thought not too bad. Only thing I really don't like about 150 series is the rear seat - it adds a lot to the floor height and I have an 11 year old 30kg border collie who has a dickie knee so will have to lift him in and out

Old vehicle was a Subaru H6 aka the snow mobile - 12 years old and much loved but starting to cost a lot to keep going.

In the sales process, the usual paint protection, cloth protection stuff was offered (what they don't use proper paint?). Then they offered a second filter/fuel separator which I'd read a lot about on this forum. Somewhere I'd thought I'd read that Toyota were now fitting these as standard, but can't find that thread and dealer guy didn't know.

Can someone who does know please advise. And is there any reason why one wouldn't want this? It's $580 from Toyota dealer - stacks more than the CAT fix, but if I get he dealer to do it, it gets the 3 year warranty etc etc. I'd get it done at 1500k service so it doesn't get whacked with luxury car tax.

I hadn't heard that Toyota were offering this themselves... Interesting. As for the rear seats/floor height do you need the rear seats? There are a few of us who have made up false floors and there is a PPer who bought a replacement floor. Have a look through the builds and you can get some good ideas. Drop a line in the introductions thread as well. Otherwise welcome to PP.

Hi all, as I have posted in the 120 section, does anyone have any idea what the under bonnet filter/water seperator micron actual size. The general conception seems on this forum that it is 2 micron. The toyota web sight is stating it to be 10 micron, with a cut in half diagram of the filter assembly. I want to go with a secondary filter and probably a raycor 230r t (10Micron) as The roo suggests, but just want to know what the original one is. Cheers Dave

I bought a D4D Hiace van last year. Included in the service manual was a leaflet talking about the benefits of an extra fuel filter/ water separator. I haven't had one fitted so don't know the price. Toyota should be fitting them as standard free of charge.

I was looking at fitting an aftermarket filter in the 120 but was confused with size,costs and flow rates so left it in the too hard basket.
