I know this is a bit late but haven't been on site for a while. I've had similar probs with Sept 2012 GXL T/D. However mine was at all different speeds and conditions. A couple of scary ones whereI came to sudden stop and since no brake light, following car nearly went up my clakka. This was about the time it was on the news about a VW (Ithink) problem. I had had mine for some time but it was getting worse and these events started to worry me. It was happening around corners, on highway, uphills, downhills nothing specific other than this stalling stutter. It strted to get to the stage where we could do the "1&2&..." up to 10. This seems a long time when in a normal driving mode. Strange thing was it would go for weeks and nothing happen and suddenly its on again. Seemed to be a 3-4 week thing. Dealer was fantastic and tried everything. This went on for most of this year and they tried reprogramming something two months back (it had been tried before) and hey presto, no problem. The frustrating thing was it would never play up when back at dealers. A couple of times with young grandkids in the car, they started crying and were really scared as the "Pradoo" was doing these strange things and they thought I was mucking around and when I explained I wasn't it freaked them out. So it was a very noticeable problem at times. However all good for 2 months until last few days and "they're back". Only minor lapses but because it had been going so well I was over the waiting for it to happen syndrome you can get in when an unknown hiccup keeps happening. Will see what happens. Again, I've been more than happy with the dealer's attempts to sort it and know if it is back again they will do their best. It is a worry though and wondering if anyone here has had a return of this after the reflash?
Cheers
Chris

Glad I bought an manual 150 series as there seemes to be a few dramas with the autos (I do however have to put up with winging from my wife about being a mean bastard and not getting an auto)

Stupid iPhone posted the same sheet 3 times.
In June. Lane Toyota (on their service report) confirmed I had latest software. 0300 (not photographed. But I will)
In October. At a different dealer. They had to install 0300. From delivered 0100. As per that photo.
Clearly lane Toyota are lying asshats. Avoid that place.

Those three attachments all look identical to me.... I am not sure I see the proof. Can you please recheck your attachments?

Lane Toyota Melbourne are lying asshats. My 20k service. They claimed they checked this and I was on 0300.it's on the service report.
Today at a different dealer. I had the firmware upgrade installed. See proof.
New dealer also replaced clunky tail shaft. Lane told me no issue.
Avoid lane Toyota. I'm going to make a formal complaint tomorrow to head office. Little that will do.Last edited by Vk3bq; 27-10-2013, 11:53 AM.

I had the issue when I first picked it up from new September 2011, and they updated the software, had the same issue twice since and the so called up date has fixed it each time. The y tried to charge me $154 but I bitched like hell and got it for free.

I had mine updated and it was great. Problem is it only lasted a week. It now has the miss again.

Had the Prado done today at City Toyota Nedlands.
4 software updates for the ECU
1 update for the autotrans.
Totally different vehicle now, well worth getting done.

Hey Matt, do you have an tech news flashes about changing the injector seals? Booked mine in for 90k service and questioned about if these were replaced during the 80k service as a part of the service. I was informed that they only do physical check (and remove the injectors) if there is a lot of tappet noise. I told them to do it at next service but not happy that they don't do it unless you ask.

Thanks Matt,
I also have the same problem and today I emailed City Toyota Nedlands (WA)
I was informed that there has been a couple of software updates since then and it is booked in tomorrow at no charge.
It just takes a few minutes to do.

Mine had the low and high speed stutter . I showed them the Tojo Tech Bulletin that I got from PP so they reflashed the ECU and the transmission and it seems ok now . It seems to change down more readily at highway speeds when going up hills I've noticed . Haven't noticed the typical flat spot when coming out of a roundabout which is good .
Cheers Ross
