The primary reason to move the intercooler is to comply with a forthcoming ADR on pedestrian impact. All vehicles are affected and bonnets have to be redesigned to allow for more deformation of the structure. So more room required
My concern since seeing them is that heatsoak is a decent risk given the amount of hot stuff needing cooling from a reasonably small frontal area. Hence Toyota's view that fitting driving lights remains a risk to cooling efficiency. Only time will tell
