Just back from dealer, they said they will give an update for the DPF module, it may take a couple of hours. That update is for highway temperature not high enough.

Thanks for letting us know, did the dealer say they would do the update separately or only when they serviced the vehicle as my dealer told me.
I don't know if you read the Fortuner forum but there is a thread on there about the DPF and the update is reported to increase the temperature considerably when under load, ie towing and increase the distance between burns.
Edit, sorry I hadn't got my brain in gear and have just realised that you are taking about another update due in December? could you confirm this please

I also been told from dealer that there will be an update in Dec when I got my car serviced in Aug. My guess the prado Dec update could be the same as Fortuner latest update( higher exhaust gas temp bank 2 during normal driving plus hotter dpf on highway dying burn) .2015 Prado 2.8 D4D

Thanks but I am still confused, I cant believe there would be a separate update for the Prado compared to the Fortuner as they share the identical engine, or would there?
The update they are taking about on the Fortuner forum came out some time ago. It seems to be well regarded apparently increasing B1S2 temperature especially on the highway, adding distance between burns and even decreasing fuel consumption. It was reported that EGR behaviour is different and they wonder if this would have increased emissions, it just seems odd that if it has been a success why is there a need for another update in December.
I am not doubting what you are saying, just wondering wtf Toyota are doing!

Well reading a post on the Fortuner forum confirms that what you have been told is correct, yes another update with something called a super burn whatever that is.
My Prado is still on the "old" software so this afternoon I have recorded a regeneration then I should be able to compare what has changed when it is eventually updated.
I will attach a screen shot of graphs showing engine speed, DPF temperature, 5th injector activity and % soot.
The complete regen took 30 Kms and I drove to the freeway then down to an exit, turned around and came back again. I recorded all functions so if anyone would like to see other functions i can easily post them.

The lead is the most important bit, you need the latest firmware version, from memory (which isn't very good) I think it is 2.0.1 definitely do not buy version 1.4.x as it will not show data lists as I found out to my cost after buying the cheapest one first.
A search will find people selling them, the well known auction website has several, they usually supply the software as well but have a look at a form called car technology dot co dot uk.
I also use torque pro on my android head unit, this is very stable and lets you easily see what is going on, it does have a recording facility but nowhere near as comprehensive as techstream.
I will try to catch my car doing a % recalculation to see if that changes after the update. The % rises very quickly then falls back without anything else changing, no extra temperature etc so I guess that it is simply a recalculation.
I have no idea why this happens and the service manager at my dealer told me it didn't, thereby losing what little faith I had in their knowledge.

My local dealership didn't believe me so I uploaded the footage to YouTube. Guess what? Within 24hrs my cars booked in and they do the upgrade.
That said, I've now ditched the car.
