2013 D4D Leaking Injector Pipes

Hi all, just looking for a little advice. I have just been advised by Toyota service that my 2013 150 Prado has 2 leaking injector pipes (fuel leak manifested as a strong smell of diesel when car at operating temperature some time following 200,000 service, with fuel visible dripping down over the rear of the engine). Is this a common occurrence for the lines to just "fail"? Should I get the injectors replaced while they are replacing the lines given the amount of kilometers?

Very unusual for pipes to just fail, rust through maybe but not just fail unless they have been removed or damaged when engine work was performed.
Have the injectors been removed or any work carried out on the top end of the engine that you are aware of?

from following the facebook group , i'm under the opinion that the pipes should be replaced when doing an injector change. I think i read that the lines do wear internally over time due to the high pressures involved and the sharp bends. or maybe there is some kind of poor seating when tightened down which needs to be perfect to last long term.

Haven't got the service book with me as the vehicle is still at Toyota. I wonder if they may have been damaged if valve clearances were checked as part of the 200K service?

i have been back to Toyota 6 times to get a rocker cover leak sorted after they did my valve clearance service

They usually replace after being torqued 3 times. Or if new injectors are going in then you might as well put new ones in. I would say they may have over torqued them when doing the 200k service if they took them off for valve checks. If they didn't touch them, then how many times have they been re-used ? If they won't come to party then see if they'll throw in the labour for free and you just pay for new pipes.

Cracked rocker cover i would say in the back corner?

@ Bear bingo - cracked rear drivers side - was not right next to a bolt hole but hairline crack......

Tojo kept telling me it was just residual oil from earlier leak - I think mine had a pinched gasket first after valvel clearance then this much slower hair line crack

I reported a leak whilst still in warranty period and its now 18 months out of warranty but Toyota Aust covered the repair including a new rocker cover, gasket kit, and plastic acoustics/engine cover as the sound deadening foam was soaked with oil and I refused to have it refitted

customer service was good with free loan car on each visit but should not have taken so many visits to agree its leaking - felt like they were hoping id go away
