coolant leak

Hi good ppl,

Ok I have 2010 gxl with 278000kms, recently noticed a pink slippery discharge under the driver's side rear wheel arch, had a look up under and found nothing obvious, this has continued for a month and have noticed the coolant level in overflow tank has dropped, any ideas would be great, cheers.

I have the same vintage GXL and recently had the same problem, apparently a known issue. It turned out to be a cracked plastic pipe leading to the overflow tank at the top of the radiator on the passenger side. Could possibly fixed by gluing in a replacement piece. Given the age of the radiator I chose to replace the radiator for around $600.

Hey Krypton cheers we had that situation a few years ago and replaced radiator as well, this is driverside rear quarter area, do these have a rear heater core as well as rear a/c...

Just following on from gympiebrowns original question about the coolant leak around the rh rear wheel , has anyone ever seen or dealt with this issue at all?

The same pipe fitting (radiator to overflow tank) disintegrated when I was getting my injectors replaced (2011 VX). Repaired by tapping a thread and sealing a brass fittting with loctite. According to my local service centre the plastic radiator only has a life of about 10 to 12 years before going brittle and can let go without any warning. Subsequent models to mine apparently have a thicker plastic. It is a common enough problem that the service centre carry spare radiators in stock.
