Plus cream interior looks awful.
The Apps button on the radio is for a Toyota phone app which syncs with the radio. If you want to find things like fuel station, landmarks etc it will be displayed on the screen but won't be a full gps nav system as such. You will be able to transfer stuff from your phone to the car screen via this app. So your phone will do the searching and results will display on the screen is my understanding
They've also tweaked the steering to become heavier at higher speeds, probably to eliminate the floating feeling when you're doing hwy/fwy speeds.
New hilux due in 2015, possible with v6 turbo diesel, then new prado 2016 or so with this new diesel engineLast edited by reggie426; 15-11-2013, 12:01 PM.

Looking at one now at the dealer while mine gets serviced. Moving the radio is a great idea, one I was going to do anyway. Front running lights that run down by the grill aren't LED, just a single globe. Personally think the original 150 looks better.

That's one way of stopping people mounting a second battery. What have they done in the European countries where they provide a second battery for cold starting as OEM equipment?

If the 7" screen is standard in the GX/GXL, I would be very surprised if it isn't setup for Toyota to provide a Satnav "upgrade" option sometime in the future.
Other vendors are starting to go this way, with the same physical screens/buttons fitted across all models and the Satnav functionality enabled either through hardware or software upgrades by the dealer (obviously at a cost). Saves them manufacturing multiple dash layouts, keeps prices lower by only selling people what they want and most importantly (for the manufacturers to make $$$ anyway) quick and simple for them to activate in the dealership and still charge a fortune for the privilege while tying buyers to OEM upgrades that they will no doubt charge a for as well....

Guest repliedI noticed that in the photo gallery on the goauto link above, a plastic box (fuse box maybe) has taken up residence on the passenger's side firewall where some have placed an aux battery.

the screen has been updated and looks good. I actually quite like the looks of the exterior and interior. The small screen and the effort of changing it was holding us back and we were looking VX instead. But now we can add leather to the GXL for $2.5k (all leather not just in certain parts as per Mr Toyota Man) we'll place an order on one shortly.Originally posted by Russell View PostDon't have a picture but advice from the dealer is that all models now have the same larger screen. Not sure of exact size but very similar to previous VX/ Kakadu (maybe a little wider).
Apparently a couple of month wait, $59k is good value.
