Just had my 2010 prado 120k service. $99/ hr labour rate. Replaced the wiper blades at $24 each, I ask why as they were ok, told they do it at each service:-(

$44 to clear the codes due brake fluid change. Used MY Scangauge to do it too. Not too hard!

Total bill just under $900. They couldn't even stamp the service book on the right page.

4WD workshop in Mornington, Vic. Be giving them a miss from now on.

    Hey Dave,

I was talking to one of the coppers from Kalumburu when we were at Drysdale River Station, said he knew you.
Didn't say if that was a good or bad thing Big bloke, blondish balding hair, bit of a gut.

Sounds a little higher than Adelaide Dobbo at around $900 but yes a long list for the apprentices to work through!

Just a word of warning, if you ask for the cold start injector test like I did, they might not do the valve clearances. Still gets me why they cant do the injector feedback readings, shut it down for a few hrs, and do the valve clearances later in the day...

started a topic Cost for 120 thou service

    Cost for 120 thou service

Just got home from over 6 weeks away to find a recall notice in the mail relating to the spiral cable for the airbag deployment so I rang my local dealer to book the car in.

The usual 4wd service centre I used in the past has changed hands and I haven't been happy with the work they did prior to our trip so I thought I'd also get the Toyota mob to do the 120,000km service whilst it's in.

The service manager told me that the cost of this service is around $1100.00 so it's quite expensive but looking at the service handbook it's also quite extensive.
Is this roughly the cost to expect from a dealer for this service or should I look to doing the oils and filters myself and let them do the rest?

We've travelled close to 15,000km's on our trip to the Kimberleys and back and to be honest I'm over mucking about with the car so soon after getting home!

    Dobbo.
