Anyone have a noisy air con fan?

The cabin fan has been driving me crazy for some time, lately though it seems to be getting worse.
The noise sounds like a jet engine idling, with a low pitched whine at all speeds and disappears when going around a corner but comes back soon as I straighten up.

I'm thinking it may be a worn bearing or something but wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?
How easy is it to remove the fan asembly to inspect or replace?
