Have you had a chance to try all the other functions? It may be an idea to have a look in the menu to see what canbus it is set on by default, although this may be nothing to do with your camera problem.
Do you mean the rear camera? the advert for your unit claims camera and panoramic camera work. My unit displays the camera when reverse is selected even if the unit is switched off.

Yeah be tried a few. Nothing but a black screen when it’s in reverse.

Just had a thought, my unit had lots of plugs that were not used, they were mainly for things like aux video and extra usb connections but I can remember that I did join a video out to a video in (phono or rca) on the rear of the unit. Could your problem be something as simple as that?

Did you use the reverse camera output RCA to the reverse camera input?

Probably, unfortunately all I can remember without pulling the unit out is that I definitely joined two RCA plugs together one input one output and wondering if
I was doing the right thing. As it all worked I haven't thought anything else about it until you raised the issue with yours.

Hi this looks like the same unit ive got in my 2015 prado i just bought.
Does yours have a dash cam ? mine has one that resets to default every time the car is turned off and the date will be 2015 on the camera feed when viewed on the screen.
There is no way i can see to view any recordings via any apps or memory or anything on the screen and it seems to constantly start the recording again every 3 minutes . It is very frustrating .
Will post photos later when i get back to the car after work.

Hi John ive given up on the screen now its got me totally lost as to how to get it going.
I tried getting new apps off playstore and the best i could do is one where it opens the rear camera ??
A few other apps just dont work at all or have a wierd angle view. So im thinking about a totally new camera .
Are there any instructions you know of that tells you how to get the screen out of the dash so I can check the connections or plug in a totally new cam?

The head unit is easy to remove, start with the air condition controls, they simply pull out, if you cant move them by hand try prising gently with something plastic like a bike tyre lever or a screwdriver with the blade protected. Once out you will see four M6 bolts which hold in the unit, the head unit can then be removed being careful to unplug the hazard switch and other wires as you take it out.
