  • Where on the engine is the DPF on a 2016 GXL Prado D4D Auto

Can someone point out where on the engine is the DPF on a 2016 GXL Prado D4D Auto and what it looks like.

I've had the vehicle for over 12 months (12,000kms of driving) and I cant recall any symptoms that would lead me to believe that the engine has perfromed a regen.
Is it possible that a previous owner could disconnect or remove the DPF ?

the DPF is part of the large silver canister behind the turbo , at the top of the exhaust pipe. The front section is a Catalytic Convertor , and the rest of it is DPF. https://toyota-club.net/files/faq/15...engine_eng.htm

If you are interested in monitoring what is going on a cheap and easy way is a blue tooth OBD2 adapter paired to an android device running torque pro.
You can watch the DPF temperature, % clogging, 5th injector etc and if you think it necessary make yourself a manual regen button following information posted on the forum.

I love that page , and having that info easily available was one of my deciding factors when buying a new car. Ford , Holden , Nissan dont put anything out , Mitsu is ok but could use more details and better pictures.

Hi John, great advice. Do you know if it would work on an iPhone as well? Is there a Torque Pro for iOS?

Torque pro isn't written for IOS and I don't have an apple device so unfortunately I cant help but I think Leadwings has posted about a program that he used on an iphone.
Could you borrow or buy a cheapo android as I think torque pro is the best monitoring program to use as it has the most support especially for hard to get pids.
