I have a 2015 Prado 4l V6 and I wanted to find out if anyone has, and has been able to solve a vibration coming through the steering wheel when driving. It's not an unbalanced or buckled wheel vibration but an engine revving vibration (all the way from 1000rpm till redline) coming through the steering. Here is all the info I have
My car is a 2015 Prado 4L V6 (VX so has the KDSS suspension etc) and it currently has 90000km on the clock. I got the vehicle 3 months ago second hand and its had this issue since I got it. As far as the previous owner history, they assured me it wasn't used for heavy towing and was kept very well.
Here is what I have diagnosed

Here is what I have diagnosed
- When the car is standing still in neutral and you rev the engine above 2000rpm you can really feel the vibration coming through the steering wheel. From 2500rpm all the way to red line its most prominent.
- When driving and you rev the engine above 2000rpm you can really feel the vibration coming through the steering wheel. From 2500rpm all the way to red line its most prominent.
- I can start to feel vibrations coming through very feint through from 1000rpm. For anyone that fishes, it's similar to you can feel it in the line, it's faint but it's there. Hit 2000+ rpm and you can really feel it)
- Its not drive train related as its doing it when the vehicle is standing still
- The rims have been refurbished completely and balanced and have new tyres on the vehicle
- Its not the engine mountings as the startup and shutdown of the engine is really nice and smooth and the engine doesn't jump
- Its not gearbox relaxed as it does it in Neutral and all the gears when driving
- I have opened the airbox and turned off the air conditioner completely and it still does it.
- We have also replaced the centre main prop shaft.
