We´ve been doing a little silvester ride on some snowy roads with four 4x4 cars on last friday.
(I always have the two driving aids turned off, as you can see..)
Unluckily, we had to let a farmer pass, and so the Hilux get stuck in the deep, icey snow:
He has no difflocks, but anyway, the snow went to ice, as soon as the tires slipped.
We tried to toe the Hilux with a Defender (equipped with Mud Terrain tires) out, but he was unable to get any grip on the icey road. No chance, tires keep on slipping..
Trying to find traction, the Defender also got stuck in the deep snow. Arghh...
After that (and I am really sorry that I took no picture or a video...), I was pulling both, yes, first the Defender and then the Hilux out of the snow with my Prado. I have a fresh set of Grabber AT2 tires on it, and I was really surprised how well I found traction without any problem. Not sure if it was the tires or that I let the TRC kick in, but it worked very well.
I just wanted to let you know ... ;-)
Cheers Peter
