  • Steering Wheel Replacement

    Hi All

I recently bought a 2015 GX, and want to change the steering wheel to a leather one - off of a GXL.

Had a look at some wreckers, and I found a totalled 2010 GXL, with the wheel still in great cond.

Does anyone know if there would be any issues in replacing the current vinyl wheel with one from a 2010 GXL, or are the steering wheels exactly the same (but for the addition of leather)?

    Cheers

Hi, it doesnt invole anything else than the replace itself. I replaced mine with a wood/leather one. Disconnect battery, release steering bolts on both sides (under small plastic covers on sides), disconnect air bag, remove lug nut, replace steering and do the rest in reverse order.

Just be careful when you pull off the old wheel. The first time I did it I pulled apart the cable clock spring. Easy enough as long as you gently release the steering wheel and then unplug the clock spring.

Edit: I assume the GX has the cable clock spring?

Do the gxl buttons for the factory stereo work when put into a gx?
