Winch for 150

Hi all
I would like to fit a winch and ARB bar to my 150 at some point after delivery.
I have heard that Warn is the go to brand. Anything else I need to know about buying one?
What would one expect to pay for a used v new winch?
Are there any other brands worthy of consideration?
Any feedback would be appreciated.

i've ordered the arb deluxe bullbar and am just in the proecess of waiting for this.

once install my plan is to install a Tigerz11 12,000lb winch 2 speed. These come with plasma rope.

my only worry about the Warn is the cost. over $1200 i believe.

for the Tigerz11 you can get them for about $900.

Yes I have been waiting for 3 weeks so far and they should have mine in stock in about 7 days.

I ordered an ARB bar at the show last weekend. Price quoted was as per Sidewinder's quote above but with a show discount of around $200.

I don't have an install date yet but they said around 2-3 weeks.

Whatever you do, don't buy a T-Max winch.

Someone at work decided they were the go...but they don't go. 4 out of 7 failed within 12 months. Fortunatley for me mine is ok, but I'm just waiting.

When it give up, I will be fitting a Warn.

I suppose the question are what are you planning to use it for, light general or heavy pulling, the times per year you plan to use it, do you need to keep below a certain amp draw, and how long you will own the car, etc etc etc

If you ask this of the seller you will get some good information to make an informed decision.

Personally, I would only buy a warn as the difference in price for me is peace of mind

When I have to pull my $60,000 plus truck out of the poo I want to ensure I can rely on the winch, mind you I also do a lot of solo trips into areas you need to be self sufficient.

There are many great brands out there for you to review

You can always go for a Warn Lite (aka Magnum) from ARB.

Cheaper than the Warn, if you intend to be a light user. Also, some Warn parts will fit straight on...

I went for plasma rope to save weight.

Here I used it to tow someone out backwards. (10m winch strap + 3m of plasma spooled out)
