Rear coils

Hi all, I have a new 3 door ZR, with which I tow a 130kg ball weight camper trailer. I have fitted the standard height Firestone airbags, and also wish to fit standard height heavy duty coils. Therein lies the problem. I have contacted Lovells, and Pedders, who are happy to supply a lift kit. I do not wish to lift the ZR, my use does not require it. Does anyone know of a company that makes standard height coils.

try giving King Springs a call, if they haven`t got something ready to go on the shelf, they can make it to suit.

if the ball weight is only 130kg and you already have airbags, I wouldn't be upgrading to heavy duty springs. If you were towing a 2Ton+ caravan, that would be a diffrerent story. The mix of short wheel base, heavy duty springs and an unladen vehicle (normal daily driving) would result in a terrible ride as the rear end would be way to stiff.

130kgs is the same as having a heavy passenger on the back seat.

Thanks jcas, I am inclined to agree. Taking the van for a test tow last weekend with weight distribution fitted, was ok except for a bit of back end wallowing. I thought stronger springs might stop that, however, you are probably right and I should leave it alone. Maybe some better shocks, but none are available unless for a lift kit.
