I would stick to the 265/70's as I reckon the 275's would start getting pretty tight. If you are really keen to try them on your welcome to bolt on my spare and see if it rubs. PM if you want to. The 265/70's certainly fill the guards much better. The car looks great with them. I'm also conscious of staying close to legal. 35/40mm lift plus 15mm from the wheels.

I did have some issues with the plastic front guard where the ARB bar had been fitted. The guard is trimmed back when the bar goes on and the edge wasn't fixed properly and was rubbing. A cable tie fixed that, but looking in around the guard it's all pretty tight on full lock. There is still lots of clearance on the UCA though so I think if you were keen you could fit a larger tyre. This is all on a car with a lift though so it may be different at stock heights.

Just got these Tyres a month ago and still have the mini hairs on them 1,000 kms so far. Little more road noise compared to the BFG All Terrains they replaced.

Hi all thanks for the info so far on these. Does anyone have any further updates especially how they go on wet black stuff as I'm just about to pull the trigger on 5. Cheers

I've had them on for a year now. Done around 40,000km on them and the wear level is good, still have heaps of tread (more than 50%) and the tyres are still nice and soft. I've done a Kimberly trip towing a camper, as well as a good mix of offroad, highway and city driving... Wet traction is very good, though I'm only comparing to the Grandtreks I had previously which I wouldn't rate very highly. Road noise hasn't increased with wear either but is still present.

I find with sand driving, you do have to let the tyres down a little more than you would think as the sidewall is very strong. It would be hard to stake one of these.

The little hairs take ages to wear off. Even with lots of beach driving... it took some serious rock crawling to make them look respectable.

The only downsides I can think of are the road noise, which isn't that bad, and that they pick up a few rocks. I tow a camper trailer and race car around and the tyres will throw dirt and rocks up behind. The camper trailer guard was pretty hammered on the Kimberly trip.

I actually get lots of people asking about them as they walk by, even caught a few people taking photos of the tyres when parked up, once when I was sitting in it. I think they are a great mix of aggressive look with performance on and off road, though not a cheap tyre. So far I'm very happy with them and would definitely put them on again.

GX's at work had them fitted from new. All users rated them.
As a result I put them on my private GXL which was picked up from Perth during a few wet days. Was worried about first drives being on wet city roads but they handled great and better than stock.
Wet highway sections on the drive back up north no problem. 4,000kms and rate them even higher after seeing how they handle the dirt.

Hi all, first real post but I have been lurking for a while...
Looking at getting a set of these bad boys next week. I was very tempted to get some black rims too, even just sunraysias, to keep the Grandtreks for highway use as they only have 20k on them. But the overall cost will probably be too high, and the CFO has expressed discontent...
Just wanted to mention that the P3s are currently $380 each through Mickey Thompson suppliers, soem sort of special I found this surprisingly cheap in my part of the world!

What a great post! Exchanging my near new (10K) Grandtreks with decent tyres is something I wanted to do since buying the 150. My 150 has standard suspension so I better check first to see if the recovery points could pose a problem during full lock. (I wonder if it is worth trying to trade in the Grandtreks to offset the cost of the P3s?)

Wow, 8 years later I'm finally in need for a new set of tyres. These P3s did over 190,000km of mixed use! not bad
