Hi everyone,
My first post here after reading and lurking for a few years.
I have 265/70r17 tyres on 17x9 (et30) rims on my 150 series, the car also has a 2” lift.
I haven’t noticed any issues in the last 10-15k kms since they’ve been fitted but had the wheels off to do the brake pads the other day and noticed the inside of the front tyres have rubbed on the suspension upright.
Parked in the driveway there is about a 3mm gap between the tyre sidewall and the little bump on the upright. There doesn’t seem to be any play in the bearings so even though the gap is pretty small, I wouldn’t have thought there would be any movement between the parts but thought maybe at low tyre pressures and in some 4wd scenarios they might touch.
I had to put the spare on the other day too and I’ve noticed today that it had also rubbed the upright in the same spot after only driving around town so it is obviously an issue.
I have been thinking of changing the upper control arms but not sure they will make a difference for this issue. Other than changing the tyres or rims for some with less offset, can anyone point me in the direction of what I could to solve this?
Cheers
