  • ECB bullbar

    Hi Folks,

Any advice on where I can get a mounting bracket for an alloy "big tube" ECB bullbar product code: BT71SYP? I've tried to get the mounting kit from ECB / Opposite Lock (agents for ECB here in Perth, WA) but was told the following by ECB:
    1. That I may or may not be able to order one depending on approval by the CEO who incidentally will be away on holidays for the next two weeks.
    2. If it were approved, it would be given lowest priority something they called a "deferred order".
    3. Couldn't be given a price because they don't normally supply brackets/kits by themselves.
    4. They had a company policy not to provide brackets because second hand bars without brackets are "usually damaged" blah blah blah.

Is this crappy after sales service the same with all bar manufacturers? :x I'm assuming the mounting brackets are specific to the manufacturers and that I couldn't just use some other brand.

    Many thanks.

    ECB Bullbar

    Hi hush_puppy,

I have also tried tracking down replacement mounting kit and indicator lights for an ECB Bullbar. I emailed ECB direct in Brisbane and got a similar reply as shown below.

"ECB does not assume any responsibility for second hand bars.
If the bar has been in a accident it is considered a write off (hence insurance) and no longer air bag compatible.
Bars that have been in accidents usually have had there lights broken and mounting kits bent, hence the need to purchase new ones.
Unfortunately we do not sell these items separately.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us."

I can understand their issue on the insurance/responsibility comments. Looks like it will be a new one for me

    Cheers,

Pity it's proving a pain hush_puppy as I just priced up a TJM bar and winch for my duel air VX and it came close to $3200

Hope you have some luck finding the kit.
      Cheers, Leon

        Hi there,

I know this thread is way old, but the question remains, where can a person obtain brackets?
My Prado is only worth about $10k, so there is no way I am gonna spend a grand or more on a bullbar for it.
Any secondhand bullbar for a 90 series is rare as rocking horse manure in WA, so I am trying to deal what I can get, not necessarily what I want.
If I ever manage to obtain a complete set of brackets, I would really like to duplicate them, (before I fit them) so they can be available for somebody with the same problem.

        Kindest regards
        Brian
