Recovery points on TX.

No, rated recovery hooks, which is what most people install would replace the pigtail tow hook that is just visible in the bottom left corner of your picture. There are also another set of threaded holes on the opposite chassis rail so you can install 1 each side. The bolts that come with the recovery hooks will be the wrong thread pitch, so you will need to get some high tensile bolts from a fasteners shop. I recommend if you do recover using the hooks, that you use an equaliser strap to spread the load between the 2 hooks, as they will bend open if too much force is applied. For the rear a reese hitch recovery block works well.

Im looking at getting our feet wet with a day trip this weekend with a 4x4 group and so getting our newbie kitted up.
With recovery points, would it be the area that I have circled in red?

Have also been researching recovery points for my 2002 TX.
FWIW - guidance I keep reading is to consult the owner's manual to see if any factory installed hooks are only for tying down during transport; or are they for towing/recovery. According to the manual with my TX, the hooks at the front and rear (one at each end) are for towing/recovery. Good to know. I would still like to have two at each end though.
