Info on body rust would be appreciated

Check bottom lip of doors, and look under the bonnet up into the corners of the guards at the bulkhead. Also check behind the tailgate rubber.

I would say no. I did lots of beach trips in my 90 over the years. Retired the car due to 400,000km and warped head gasket, pulled plastic off the bottom half of the doors & wheel arches when dismantling it in my backyard and no rust. Not even any on exposed edges of hole saw cutout where snorkel went into the front panel.

I must say I haven't seen much rust on my 2000 model, apart from the tow bar receiver which was left with the hitch connected for years and rusted so much I just got a new tow bar. Other place where there is some tiny add l amount surface rust is the exhaust manifold and silencer but nothing to worry about right now.

Mine was probably kept garaged by the last owner and seems to have some kind of underbody coating on it.
