Front Fender Seal - What is it?
Hi, I'm about to start fitting a Vollies dual battery tray in my 2000 deisel prado kzj95r and I've already hit some snags with brackets not aligned to holes etc, one of the things I'm puzzled on is a black steel 1mm plate on the passenger side fender inside the engine bay, known officially as Seal Front Fender 53883B, I need to remove this. But what is it, I looks substantial for simply a seal or is it more than that, a strengthening plate or something related to air bag deployment?

The front fender seal is an element that helps seal and protect against dust, dirt, and water in the engine compartment. Front fender seals are typically not associated with reinforcement plates or airbag deployment. Instead, they serve a functional purpose, keeping the engine compartment clean and protected from outside influences. If you want to remove the front fender seal to install the double battery compartment, ensure this will not affect its functionality and safety features. If you're unsure, consult an expert or check the automotive guides at https://www.autobezz.com/ for accurate information and advice. Either way, good luck and all the best.Last edited by KayeTenn; 30-05-2023, 07:10 PM.
