  • rear rotor instllation problem

G'day all....first ever post in ANY forum!!

I have just replaced the rear handbrake shoes on my 97 prado. Been a bit of a battle but all went well except....I cant get the rotor back on over the new shoes. I have adjusted the hand brake cable all the way out in the cab, wound the adjuster at the base of the shoes all the way in but the drum still wont fit over the shoes.

Any words of wisdom out there??

    Cheers

    Hey Grasshopper
Sounds like you are on the right track, but doesn't explain the resistance of the drum fitting back over the new shoes.
    Cheers Troy

Are they the correct shoes? Are they fitted correctly (Some of them have a cambered fitting, spin it the wrong way and it will do what you say.

Try moving them around. They might not be located centrally to slip inside the rotor.
