  • Stereo does not function after battery replacement

Hi there Im a newbie to pradopoint but get out in the bush and to remote coastal areas. Have just got my beast and it has done a venerable 550K with oits previous two owners. On purchase the stereo unit ( factory Fujitsu ten) is unable to work as it requires security re-initialisation. The procedure for re-entering the security code is contained in the owners manual which I did not receive with the vehicle. (according to previous owner it worked fine until battery replacement. I am thinking of replacing it so that should overcome the security issue, but coincidentally? after bottoming out the front suspension the odometer has ceased to display. I thought it may have been a loose connection, have disassembled the dash and removed the instrument panel and replaced it but it has not cured the fault. Could there be a dry joint somewhere as all other guages including speed function fine.

Thanks to anyone who can enlighten or assist me - particularly with the reset procedure for the fujitsu ten if anyone has manual

The reset security code for the radio will be specific to your car, Toyota may be able to advise the code after you confirm your the owner.
Without the security code you cannot get it to work, I would suggest fitting a aftermarket head unit which would other many useful features.

Security code was not set by default, you had to set it yourself (from memory). Therefore Toyota will not know it, but may know a master override code.
