  • Fault diagnosis

    Hello folks

It’s my first post in here having just bought my first Prado 90 series.
    3.0 Diesel.

Had it a week. Had an issues with Diesel leaking out of fuel filter which I managed to fix by renewing filter.
The car was struggling to start prior to this and took a fair bit of turning over. Once fixed started first turn every time.

Anyway a few days later after the fix we got an engine warning light come on and lost power.
I’ve done a bit of reading and have been searching for

    DLC3 plug connector

After reading a different post describing how to collect the info on faults saved in ecu.

Can not find this connector where it should be.

Any thoughts on where or how I can get fault
    Codes.

    In Perth Western Australia

    Thanks in advance
    MAnthony

If it is a KZJ95 circa 2000 the diag connector is the connector with the flip up plastic lid located near the upper hose outlet on the LHS of the cyl head.
I'll try and send you a pdf by PM.
    cheers

      Steve

      Thanks

Not sure if it’s kzj95 how do I tell??
Will look in engine bay later.

      Can’t see pm??

Do you need to use the correct diagnosis tool or can you short the 2 pins out to get the engine codes??

      Thanks again

Short out T1 and E1 if memory serves, CEL will flash the code.

PMs not obvious in options, you might have an email.

The OBD plug in my engine bay doesn't seem to do much.
I use the one near the foot rest inside the car against the transmission tunnel.
