Fuel pump

Hi All, was reading a thread on another site about a guy who ran out of fuel in a new Hyundai {T/D} and it cost in excess of $5000 to replace, add to that Nissans replacement cost is about the same got me wondering how much mine would be, its an 02 3Lt T/D, I remember when I had the Hi Lux a recon pump was about a grand fitted then but purely out of curiosity I wonder how much it would cost now , anyone got first hand experience ? also price on other parts i.e. turbo, engine etc would be a good insight,
