Yes I have a 2.7. Good fuel consumption, but the diesel would be better offroad. I find I don't have enough low down torque when offroad. I have to have the revs up even when offroad.

            power

havent noticed really, its got way more than the lifted subaru i came out of before the prado.

I wouldnt say fuel consumption is fantastic, but for what it is i get 12-13L/100 out of town and 14-15L stop start in town...

I know it’s off topic, but the 3RZ-FE must be a tough little donk.

These guys and a few others are getting 1400hp (no that is not a typo) out of them.

              Now that is cool

              Paul.

              PS. I love pictures

I was told that the v6 snorkle fits the 2.7 with a slight modification between the air filter and the snorkel.

                    Anyone done it before?

Does anybody try to convert to D2D diesel engine.
Mind 2.7, thinking to change to get the Hilux engine, which is I think could be new engine and more power.

I'm also not too sure this car 2.7CC prado 1997 is using timing belt or timing chain, any idea wheater it using belt or chain?

                          Anybody change it before?

The 3RZ FE engine use a timing chain. The timing chain can go for a long time and shouldn't be worried with unless you hearing noises or having problems or you are already tearing down the engine.

Besides what it says there, I read an occasional problem with balance shafts in the 3RZ engine. There is a kit to remove the balance shafts: http://www.lceperformance.com/Balanc...-p/1015050.htm

3RZ it's a great great engine widely used in race applications.
