TRD Supercharger

Hi guys,

I’ve just purchased a single owner 50th anniversary model 2001 VZJ95 auto with 244,000kms that hasn’t missed a single major or minor service.
I’m looking at fitting a supercharger and was wondering if anyone has a used one for sale or if you would recommend against fitting one on such a high km vehicle?

That milage is overly high so if maintained it should be okay.
Definitely fit a 7th injector and a Unichip or similar to control low rpm/high load detonation (pinging). I ran a blown 3.4 for near.y 10 years without issue.
The one area to watch was say towing at 100km/hr and easing on throttle as that could cause detonation as the knock sensors don’t come into play until above 3000 rpm in my experience.
Well worth fitting the TRD blower as it makes them a very easy & capable drive not to mention fun.

Exactly what I wanted to hear, thanks mate.
I've been doing a lot of reading on Glen's install and the advice in that post so can hopefully get the ball rolling. Would you say my only real option is to get a blower is from the kit from Bullet?

I bought my blower from the US much cheaper than locally. There are a few preloved units getting around so if you can wait that is an option.
IMO the Bullet price is excessive since an Exide Interceptor computer plus tuning is extra. I installed my TRD unit is under 4 hours and that was cleaning threads etc as I went so not a big job so hard to see the justification for the install costs by Bullet, again that is only my opinion.

I think I’ll hold my breath for a used one, hopefully one pops up soon. I can’t really justify the price for the Bullet kit either.
