  • LPG economy

    Hi all

Just thought I'd benchmark my 2001 with others on lpg to compare usage. I'm getting worse case about 17.5l per 100kms. That is very worse case, lots of short runs and cold starts. Not sure of highway use as whenever I'm on the road I'm towing.

What are others getting around town? oh, and its the standard venturi type lpg system.

    Re: LPG economy

    In my 3.4L 2000 GXL

I get anywhere from 220km to 320km for 68L lpg around town.
Have seen 400 once or twice on long trips but that was non stop driving.

220km is towing 3tonne around town (around 30L/100km)
320km normal city driving (around 20L/100km)
    400km highway driving (around 17L/100km)

but my system is due for a good tune so might get more.

      Re: LPG economy

Just driven all the way around Australia. The best is 14.5ltrs and worst 19.5ltrs. Clean the MAF sensor and get the spark plug gaps set correctly. Then get it tuned.

Also I found without a doubt that BP GAS will run the car better and get better range.

            Re: LPG economy

When I did the previous post I was running worn Cooper HTs and getting 300kms around town from full until fuel light on. This is 50l of gas or 16.5l per 100kms.

I've put Bridgestone ATs on now and economy seems to have dropped off. Woofed down an horrendous 25l per 100kms towning the van into a strong headwind today. Will post some more info once I have some comparable around town stats.

The only thing changed has been the tyres.
