    Thanks John, understood.

I should have read Glens reply better. I missed the fact the he was talking links rather than the main bar.

My replacement Pedders bushes seem to be holding up now. Doing my best to destroy them so I can some Toyo ones fitted again but no luck so far.

Glen, how does the link extension affect road handling?
I would have thought it would stiffen it up and screw you for off road again?

      Hey Malcom,

Yes, they improved on road handling. It feels firmer in general, the body stays slightly flatter on corners, and the car recovers from wobbles quicker. If I drive through a corner too hard, the tyres seem to start sliding earlier than before - because there's less body roll and the suspension is acting firmer. However, this is with my 2" sus + 1.5" body lifted rig, which is taller than normal 2" lifted Prados. I don't know if the difference will be as noticeable on normal 2" lifted rig, but you're obviously sensitive to this, so it's probably worth you trying.

Off road I didn't notice a difference at all. Even the articulation measurements were roughly the same.

More details and photos in my build up thread:

          Hii,

I done the suspention lift, and did not done any modification on sway bar as Glen did.
So, far I did not feel any issue on the stability of the car, but just had some feeling to try.

Does this Nissan terrano link have to do any modification?
Anybody did that? and and improvement?

Thinking to get the Terrano link to my Prado Front Link and change my Front Link bar to Rear Link.
This migh save my $$ as I just need to buy 2 of Terrano Link.

The thing is with Glens Prado is, the body lift. ANY vehicle that has a body lift will handle differently to a vehicle with a suspension lift.
97 VX Grande, with front & rear air lockers, ARB Sahara winch bar with tigers 11 winch, 2" EFS lift, 265/75/16 Achilles Desert hawk XMT, and more.

Thats just a center of gravity effect though right?

Well yes, but it affects cornering and wobbles as well. The higher the cabin, the more leverage that cabin's weight has over the suspension.... theoretically!!!

Practically speaking, I didn't notice significant stability changes from the body lift - it just felt higher!! The original 2" suspension made a big change, and much later, the 33" tyres - they made a huge impact to on road performance.

Well its gone to shit again.
Last weekend we went driving around Bendethera and I managed to loose a sway bar D mounting bracket.
However, this has led me to understand what's going wrong with my sway bits.

My car runs an Old Man Emu Tough Dog 2" lift. As part of that lift, the installers have lowered the front sway bay by inserting 20mm plastic spacers between the D clamps and the chassis rail. Bloody long mild steel bolts have been fitted without nylock nuts. Nothing fitted to the rear.
End result is that its either collected a rock and torn off or the plastic spacer has compressed enough to let the nuts fall off. I believe the later as it would have screwed the steering rack first. So no D clamp remaining anymore.

So, my question is- Do you guys run these spacers between the chassis and sway bar?

I'm thinking I should get rid of the last remaining spacer and bolt it as per factory, then fit some of Jasons extended sway links.
Would you fit mild steel bolts that can shear or high tensile and risk tearing the bolts from the chassis?

Can someone also confirm that I have standard link bars fitted. The length of the front from the top of the bar to the centre of the ball joint is about 155mm. The rear from the centre of the ball joint to the edge of the mounting bracket is about 125mm.

                  Any disagreements or other opinions?

                      Hi Malcolm.

The ones you have are Standard length.
If we are measuring the same (centre of Ball to the step at the base of bush mount) My longer ones are 159mm for the Front & 126mm for the Rear.

Those are the standard lengths right?
I'd expect the extended ones to be some 20-30mm longer than my standard units?
