  • What happened at the 2011 GTG

So what is happening at the GTG this year? Well we have found some great company, some great camp sites, some great tracks, lots of laughs, and I for one am really enjoying what SEQ has to offer.

Just a couple of pics to wet your whistle

This is what Trish gets upto when I let her drive!

Some nice teaser pics there Andrew. I was hoping to get up to Noosa north shore tomorrow for they day and met up with you all but murphy's law has reared its ugly head and the wife's fallen ill. I was hoping to test out my new on board air comp that I rushed to install for this weekend but it'll have to wait..

Well folks, it all wrapped up today - I personally had a fantastic time participating and meeting everyone this year.

Thanks again to fellow Crew, the Sponsors, and all of you for attending this years Pradopoint 2011GTG in South East Qld.

Here's just a few pics of what I got up to after it finished.

Firstly, I headed down to the beach for a quick dip, I then soaked up some rays and relaxed.

I then transformed my number plates. LOL

Below is looking back towards Noosa.

                The Teewah Beach coastline.
Gotta luv Qld weather,....raining 1 day, absolutely fantastic the next !!

I later caught a glimpse of Rev heading North bound up the beach - "take care Rev"

                cheers,

Well what a time we had.As you can see from AJ's photos we sure had some fun on the tracks, but what you cant see in AJ's photos is the big grin on my face.It was great to catch up with some old faces from last year and to meet many more this year and put more faces to names.A big thank you again to all those who organised this years GTG,a job more than well done.We have got a week to travel home now so we are sitting down at a van park On the Broadwater at the Gold Coast for a few days for some R & R.Restocked with some supplys and did a weeks worth of laundry, some things don't stop even on holidays,And tomorrow will play tourist. Will post some photos when we get home when I have some time to sit down and sort some shots and have a better internet connection

Now that its all over I must give a huge thanks to all the guys who organised the trips and ran the event, and also a huge thanks to the partners that helped out as well!

What a top bunch of people to spend a week with, and what a top place to spend it at, no doubt it won't be the last trip to SEQ for me.

The event hadn't even started officially but seeing as we got there a day early the guys asked if we wanted a drive through the rainforest....... hell yeh!

Following Fozzy (aka David Attenborough) through the forest.

one of the tracks at LCMP

The 150's were really impressive as this was the first time I have seen them in action, Dobbo doing it easily!

We are in Beaudesert tonight, hope to wash the underside of the Prado in the 14 river crossing on the Condamine tomorrow, then hopefully get lost in the bush for a few more days.

                    Cheers Andrew

It Certainly looks like a good time was had by all. It sure was great to see Prado After Prado on Teewah beach and heading up from the ferry at Noosa on my way home from work on Fraser Island on Friday. Pity some of us still had to work.

Many thanks to all who put together this great event. Millie and I throughly enjoyed ourselves and were most impressed with the great scenery. I will re visit these areas again, but to keep "her who shall be obeyed" happy will stay in cabins etc. Would have loved to join you all at the beach but the dog restrictions put paid to that. How ever I did think af you all when the storm came on the Saturday morning.
Off today with a mate from Sydney to explore the Border Ranges area for three or four days. Hope the weather holds out.
Many thanks again and well done.
                          Chas and Millie
PS Thanks for allowing Millie to come along.

Back home and a day of cleaning awaits...

What a tremendous bunch of people. I had so much fun meeting more of the PP members and their families. It was heartening to see the kids running around the parks with kangaroos and watching their reactions as lorikeets chose to use them as a perch.

The 4WD'ing adventures each had their own flavour as we made our way from forest to foreshore. There was plenty of beautiful scenery, challenging and at times technical driving, a few recoveries, cyclonic downpours, magnificent sunshine, shared campfires with enough wood for an inferno, yarns spun, wine tasting, and an all round shared experience.

Oh, and as astonishing as it will be to some, I had my very first experience welding; bush welding no less! Less astonishing was that I have plenty of room for improvement .

Thanks for the good times and memories for all who participated. It was an absolute blast!
