First time post here, hopefully it's the right place to post this up.
I'm looking to get a 2nd hand Prado Diesel the 120 series, looking or hunting for either 2008-2009 model with less than 150K on the odometer, with a budget of around $40K.
Not in real hurry to get it, so will wait until a good one turns up.
Are those engines still OK for that amount of KM or should I look for something with less on the odometer. I've seen some 150 series for around that pricepoint too, but I really don't like the look of the 150 series and from what I've read here, the 120 seems to be better in some areas (fuel tank and cargo space)
What are the things that I should definitely look out for in the 120 series D4D ? . I've read that the the D4D diesel engine for those series can have some serious issues with the injectors, what are the tell tale signs of this injector problems and what are the symptoms ? Also read from here that some tests can be done to check if the injectors are OK, how much does those tests cost ? and where can I get them done ?
I'm based in the Sydney area
There are 166 pages on the "Diesel Rattle in D4D Prado" thread should I have a read at those ? :-)
