Stick with the graphite if your planning to go bush a lot. 4WDs are meant to be dented/scratched/ banged etc.
The only reason why I went for an Ebony Prado because every time one drives pass me or overtakes me I end up staring at it, now... I want the public to do the same when I do it. It's a real head turner!

We've had our GX auto for 2 weeks now and more than happy with it. $53,900 drive away bog stock no extras.
Busy now looking at all the good stuff to put on. Would appreciate any info and advice.

Is $61k Drive away (ACT) for Prado GXL Graphite Auto Diesel with Mats, Cargo Barrier and Towbar a good price?
Any issues with the colour Graphite. I know black cops the scratches in the bush.

Guest repliedair bags in rear springs Yes as long as both vehicles are lifted (or not lifted). Airbags have specific length as to whether the vehicle is lifted or not. Both vehicles must have the same type of lift.
bash plate under the engine No
roof racks. What type? The ones that fit onto the north south rails? If so, the feet aren't compatible. If mounted directly to the roof, then no.
Could i buy a new 150 series, take its stock suspension and install it in my 120 series, Maybe
and then install the 2in lifted springs, shocks and struts from my 120 into the new 150? Yes

I am about to update our 2005 GXL with either a new GXL or SR5 hilux.
Can anyone comment on how transferable accesories are between the 120 and 150 series? Items that i could transfer are:
air bags in rear springs
bash plate under the engine
roof racks.

Are the 18" wheels a negative?
Does a VX or a Kakadu cost a lot more to run in the long term?

I'm about to purchase and wondering if it's better to get the tyres changed upfront or later. It'll be a novated lease so trying to get all I can done to the vehicle pre-delivery up to the Luxury Car Tax threshold.
Thanks !

So, having settled on a GX Auto, I've managed to get the dealer down to $56K drive away - seems pretty good. Also can get tyres changed to 265/70/17 BFG AT's at $870 with trade-ins. Then it's the big list - reckon about $12K more once all the fruit added :-)
Will do a build-up once I get the ball rolling.
