Actually - just noticed that the spec is down as "3.0D T RV 5A" whereas the VX models have the RV replaced by VX.
Not sure what this means exactly.

Hey,
The VX has climate control air conditioning, which the GXL does not. You can pick the difference by looking behind the center console, there will be vents for the VX and none for the GXL.
The VX also has traction control which the GXL does not.
The VX also has leather seats and wood grain trim, so easy to pick over the standard GXL.
I believe the wiring for a reverse camera is also built into the VX, where you need to put it in for the GXL.
The VX also has a different setup for low range compared to the GXL, and has a different centre diff lock button. You can drive the VX in low range with the centre diff unlocked, whereas you can't do that in the GXL.
Best
Mark

All models have ABS. VX additions are essentially accessories - trim.

2007 Prado - Difference between VX and lower specced models
Hi
I am in New Zealand and looking at buying a Prado.
Have looked at a couple and they were the VX model.
Just seen one advertised now (2007) and it does't specifically mention its a VX, nor does it make any reference to ABS brakes.
So my questions are
1/ Confirmation that there are lower specced models (GXL?) and that they can come without ABS brakes.
2/ Is there also a difference for an automatic.. electronic automatics (VX) and something less in the non VX?
3/ Any way of identifying aside from the VX sign on the back?
Any input appreciated.
thanks
