Hey,
I'm looking at a possibility of swapping my '19 GXL to the newest Kakadu.
I'm in Europe, so the spec models don't match 100%. My current Prado is sort of in between GX and GXL (more leaning to the GXL) and the model I'm looking at is full-spec.
With the release of updated Prado with the new engine, I've been thinking about doing the swap. I really like the car and having a brand new one with more features is a plus.
I have some questions to people who did the trade for the new model.
Is the new engine worth it? I've seen videos on Youtube and the difference seems drastic in terms of acceleration and overall engine culture. But video vs real life could be much different.
Beige leather interior? How is the upkeep? Does it stain easily? How much more work does it require in comparison to black interior to keep it clean? I've only had black interiors before, thus my experience is non-existent.
Wheels: are '19 inch rims ok? In my current one, I have '17 and the ride is mushy and they look too small imo.
New infotainment screen: how is it? Is it a big upgrade? Any new software apart from Carplay?
Last question to the people who did the swap: Would you do it again? Disregard the fact that I'm jumping from a low spec to a high spec.
Bit of info: It will be a daily driver and I drive alone most of the times. I think about it as a luxury vehicle during a workweek and a capable vehicle during the weekends that will take me into the mountains/lakes/forests. Nothing hardcore, as I have a VDJ76 (imported from Dubai to the EU) for the serious off-roading.
