Booking Time for Prado2021

I would caution people thinking they will sell their Prado and “make money” on it…. Interest rate are going up and up, economy is seriously slowing and new car ( hopefully only additional engine, not a complete change)…. Probably likely true that a less than 6 month old Prado low km will sell for about same as new car…. Most Prado advertises for much higher price on car sales don’t move until the price drops…. So more likely you won’t lost much if you keep for 6 mth- 1yr, rather than making$$$

I did, sold my 6 month old 22 Prado VX and ordered a new one and will have a large chunk of cash left over.

that's great for you, but I suggest you are lucky, or maybe you got a great price on your original purchase - but looking forward things are not going to be as sweet.

Dear friends,

I have booked a Prado VX wheelback option on 1st June 2022 and the expected Delivery date was in Oct then it was postponed to Nov and now they are saying that my vehicle delivery probably middle of January 2023 (I have already received the mail from Toyota about the build date(23/11/2022) and shipping details saying it is on the way to AU by sea), Today I have noticed that my vehicle came to the Toyota Yard and is waiting for delivery. I haven't got any notification from the dealer about the expected delivery date. The dealership was advising me that if my vehicle delivery date falls after Dec 31, then I need to pay 2000$ General price increase.

One of my friends also in the same situation and his dealership in Adelaide waived off the 2000$ price increase since the Prado VX was already produced in Nov 2022 and expected to get delivered to customers in the first week of January 2023.

I would like to hear the opinion from others who are in the same situation.

I suggest you discuss the circumstances with Consumer Affairs in your state. They should be able to tell you what your obligations will be.

I have the same situation. I ordered a VX in Feb but still waiting for the car. I read the contract and https://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/c...-and-contracts focused in "The contract and deposit" section. If I have to pay extra, I will discuss with the dealer first. If this cannot be solved, I will contact Fair Trading.

For anyone interested, I ordered a plain white standard GX in Nov 2021 (13 months ago) and still not arrived. Best dealer can tell me is planned production in Jan 2023 for delivery end of Feb 2023. That would make it 15 months but I don't even trust that given that it has been pushed further out 4 times from the original 6 month quote. Do you just get an email when manufacture starts (my dealers has not contacted me even once unless I call first)?

my dealer told me they dont send any updates anymore on when car goes into production, estimated arrival date etc.
not sure if its all dealer or this specific dealer

I opted the Standard tailgate one with 150 Litre fuel tank. ordered through Bridge Toyota Darwin. It took 7 Month from order to delivery.

I am still waiting from Jan 2022 for dusty bronze VX with standard tailgate from CMI Adelaide.

My price for prado is little higher as compared to the CMI adelaide. My colleague waiting for a prado vx through CMI and the quote was around 75k drive away.
