  • Used Prado Query

    Hi All

Would appreciate your opinions (and understand that they are only opinions so please don't hold back!).

Looking to buy our first prado (have owned a jeep previously). Not a big budget
Our only requirements are : Auto and Diesel (originally was gas inclined but have been convinced Diesel is the way to go)

Our range is putting us into either 2002/2003 (approx 150-200k) or 2004 (approx 200-250k)

Would you go for age or distance travelled?
And what else should I look for?

Also, if anyone knows of any for sale, please contact me.

    Cheers
    Julie

Re: Used Prado Query - please help

Hi Julie, welcome to the forum. Good move going to a Prado from a Jeep i reckon

In the age range you are quoting, you are covering the last of the 90 series and the early 120 series. Both would be good, just depends if you prefer one over the other. I personally, with a vehicle of that age would prefer lower Km's rather than a later year, assuming that Km's are genuine and the vehicle is in good condition. With a diesel make sure it has been serviced every 5000km's. Other than that i reckon its just all the normal things for any vehicle, try and work out if the vehicle has been looked after and that all the service history matches the vehicle, check thoroughly for accident damage. A NRMA vehicle check should also pick up any major faults.

Lots of reading on this forum before you purchase will help heaps as well, then just buy and enjoy.

    Cheers Andrew
