I employ several methods.
I use maps, observe what others are doing, check up intriguing ruins or locations on Google Earth, and sometimes it's just a challenge, like travelling alone and unsupported. I grew up and lived in the wheatbelt and the fringe of the gold fields, so I am familiar with these regions.

The North of Southern Cross region in Western Australia is known as "Prado Country," thanks to the popularity of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado among local residents. The rugged terrain and challenging conditions of the region make it an ideal testing ground for the capabilities of the Prado, which is a favorite among off-road enthusiasts.
