If you live in WA and haven't done Dirk Hartog Island yet, put it on your list! It won't let you down, it's a HUGE island and lots of awesome 4x4ing to do to get up to the tip. We stayed at the Block for the fishing but anywhere on the island is great. Turtle bay at night is excellent for fishing, just beware of the huge sharks and use 100lb wind on leaders. Hands down the best 4x4 trip ive ever done.

I used to do maintenance at the light house there and at steep point about 30 years ago. Great place. -

It was. We covered from Esperance to Darwin maintaining federal marine nav aids. This was the type of 4WD we used to get from ship, up beach and up to the lighthouse. Great for trolling a lure for the mackerals off the cape.Originally posted by GerryE View PostComment
