Hutch,
It just dawned on me.

Rim width is measured from inside the bead.
Backspacing is measured from outside the bead to the hub face.

So backspacing is not half the rim width + offset.

Backspacing = 0.5 * rim width + bead + offset

There that makes more sense... not, using the calculator on the other thread gave me a difference of 7mm between the std set up and DC torque wheel.

I'm confused ....the diagram shows what a pos and a neg offset is but the list below that shows ET.....what does ET mean ?

The term ET originates from the German word 'Einpresstiefe' which translates as 'insertion depth'.

ET30 = positive 30 offset

Off set too much coupled with my 275 tyres they would stick out.
With the 265's they are right on the limit.

Hi guys, i'm a new member to prado point and have found it pretty beneficial!. I might have missed something but was wondering if a ROH "Trojan" rim 17x7.5 will fit on a 2012 GX prado? and or any other rims that would suit?

Not sure about the offset? I was told the "speedy grande" would not suit due to offset on new model 2012. If it was a 2011 then it would be a goer.

I am wanting to move up to a 265/65 A/T tyre for future towing capabilities and under body clearance other then the current standard 245/65 tyres.

Would ebay be the best place to sell the rims existing rims which are brand new?

Any help would be of benefit,

Their has been no change in offset between 2011 and 2012. Any offset between +25 and +15 should ok, u can lower but that will just push the wheel further out.

120 series Prado GX steel rim 17 x 6

New to the site so first post.

I am confused as my 2004/5 GX (No flares) has 17 x 6 steel rims and I measured the offset at 50mm. 140mm to inside and 40mm to outside. 90mm is the centre = 50mm offset.

The comments above refer to a 15mm offset.

What am I missing??

I am struggling to find some A/T L/T tyres for these narrow rims.

Are you taking measurements from the rim or the tyre's sidewall?
