    • So I have a GX with 17x6.5 inch rims
      6.5 x 25.4=165.1
      165.1 divided by 2 (for center line) =82.55+15 offset = 97.55mm
      165.1-97.55=67.55
if I put GXL rims with 17x7.5 inch rims
      7.5 x 25.4=190.5
      190.5 divided by 2 =95.25+ 25 offset =
      120.25mm
      190.5-120.25=70.25
if I put Hilux rims 17x7.5 inch rims
      7.5 x 25.4=190.5
      190.5 divided by 2=95.25+30 offset=
      125.25mm
      190.5-125.25=65.25
So while GXL rims are legal Hilux rims technically aren’t, is that right

      • Offset on both GXL and Hilux rims is more than GX. That means neither are legal on your GX.

            • So since I couldn't get any answers (different post) I went ahead and got hold of a second hand set of GX rims to fit on the Kakadu to replace the 18" rims and couldn't be happier so thought I'd post some feedback here.

I replaced the Kakadu factory 265/60r18 (OD30.5")on 18x7.5"ET25 with 245/75r17 (OD31.5") on 17x6.5"ET15 which essentially is 1" taller and 1" thinner tyre which I was chasing. No fowling of the KDSS components and got the sidewall height/section width I was chasing. My Kakadu has no lift, all standard height. Plenty of room around the suspension equipment for clearance and no sticking out the sides (as to be expected with 245s and ET15).

Fits under spare cover no issues (Toyo Open Country ATII LT245/75R17).

                • Hi,

im new to the group and new Prado 150 owner. I was just wondering if it’s possible to fit series 90 16” alloy wheels into the 150.

Or if you have any recommendation?

                  thank you

No as it will very likely hit the brake calipers.

Also even IF it cleared calipers (There was some guys grinding the brake caliper body to fit.....) It will not be legal in an accident or insurance situation, unless you can have an engineer sign it off.

                        • I have put a deposit for new Kakadu.l liked how it drives with KDSS and Airbags the only annoying issue is wheel size
the current model comes with 19" wheels.
what is the smallest wheel size that will fit it ? can you fit 17" ?
Dealer said you can go maximum 1 size down legally. also he mentioned that they tried 17" wheels on Kakadu before and it was rubbing on KDSS
anyone got experience with recent Kakadus ?

what year is your Kakadu? i wonder if there is much difference to 2022 model. whether 17" rims will rub on anything.
ideally would love to have 265/70/17 wheels for remote/offroad travel
also not sure about legality of going 2 sizes down from 19" down to 17"

If the model (Year etc) didn't come out with them, you will need to have it engineered to be legal and insured.

if you swap 19" to 18" wheels do you still need to engineer or 1" size change is fine
