Hi all, just thought i'd throw out the question, has anyone fitted a heat exchanger? Done plenty of searches but doesn't look like many Prado'ers have fitted a heat exchanger. Just bought the Helton unit, hand made in Aus. Looks like a solid unit, made out of copper inside and out. Looking for some photo's where they have been installed and whether it was in seiries or parallel?
I bought the red unit which has a lot more copper coil for the fresh water, making it hotter than the other unit so I am thinking I will install it in parallel with a brass tap inline to reduce the flow of coolant through the unit for when I don't want the water so hot. Another option is to instal a tap in the shower line to reduce or increase flow time through the exchanger, increasing and decreasing heat, but this changes the flow rate also and not too keen on that.
Post long enough?
