With reports saying the man and vehicle had been there for some months, you wonder about the circumstances. A wrong turn and vehicle break down could have any of us in the same position. Given he was found with his car, it seems like he probably did the right thing by 'staying with the vehicle'. That only helps if people have a rough idea of where you're going though...
