I have the Treg on my off-road trailer and used it for 20+ years. The Tvan has the DO35. For ease of hookup the DO35 is better in my view. I like being able to back up under the coupling and then lower it on the hitch. Don't have any issues with it being solid steel. Guess it's what you like.

Personally I would go a 7X4 over an 8X5 trailer. I would also go a single axle over dual as it is easier to move around and reverse.

My 7X4 hit sided trailer with single axle and suspension and axle rated to 1,500kg, easily handles 1M3 of soil, sand etc. suspension only starts to compress after the first 1/2M3 is loaded. It is fitted with electric brakes and a DO35 coupling, was originally a Treg but swapped it to the DO35 after getting a Tvan and finding it a lot easier to connect, especially with a load in it and not on the flat.
Only thing I wish I had done was get it galvanised when it was made, pain in the behind to repaint it every few years.

Not really sure about the opening front tailgate, as if you have a tyre there it will be in the way, and I have never really seen the need for it, with the H rack it can easily fit longer items.

Some photos of trailers I knocked up using bits and pieces.
The 8'x6' tipper is perfect around the farm, Tares about 450kg, can carry and tip tons.
Ram is 5-stage, 1500 lift, when extended the tray goes way high. Axles/wheels aren't heavy duty but springs are and it has over ride brakes.
Hydraulic power pack runs from the N200 battery which will last all day, recharge over night or connect via Anderson plug.

The 6'x4' started out as the Hobie trailer, so it's got an extending drawbar, can carry 4.2m. Box is slightly larger than 6x4 so it fits 6x4 sheets with room.
The corner posts have drop in beams for the Hobie rollers, tail gate slots into the corner posts and is top hung, lifts off easy-peasy.
Has the el-cheapo tip over axle but in reality they're a useless idea. Once the trailer tips and starts to unload, the centre of gravity shifts and next thing it all comes crashing back down. My other old tip over axle trailer has an over centre support to hold the tray up while you're unloading. It works well, will have to sort out this one too.
